LINCOLN STATION - the commercial center of Lincoln
Land conservation project led to Lincoln Station development
In the late 1970's, RLF acquired  71-acres of the Codman estate hoping to protect
the conservation value of this historic parcel.  55 acres were set aside for
conservation and recreation, 16 acres were used by the Lincoln Foundation to
create a 125-unit affordable and moderate income housing development.  Lincoln
Station was built on the remaining land.

Lincoln Station, Lincoln's commercial center, is locally controlled
Initially Lincoln Station was operated by a private organization through a ground
lease.  Over time, the Board of RLF decided that it would be better for the town to
have the town's commercial center under local control.  Today RLF operates
Lincoln Station for the benefit of the community, ensuring that core commercial
services are convenient for Lincoln residents.  In 2009, RLF undertook a
significant renovation of Lincoln Station to enable the property to continue to
provide services of value to residents.

Proceeds from Lincoln Station are used to protect Lincoln's open
space.
