LAND MANAGEMENT
Managing Conservation Land is Labor Intensive
Working with the Lincoln Conservation Commission, LLCT manages over 3000
parcels of conservation land. "Open Space" requires management to stay open.
Some of the key activities are:
Trail maintenance: walking the trails and ensuring that they are safe and passable.
This includes raking the trails to prevent plant overgrowth, removal of fallen trees,
replacement of trail markers, bridge maintenance and more.
Field management: Without regular mowing, fields return to forest. Invasive plants
must be removed and field edges cleared.
New Trail Creation: When a new parcel is acquired or when animal or erosion
requires a change in trail location, a new path is cleared
LLCT Membership contributions fund our Land Management
Activities. We always welcome the contributions of volunteers in trail
work.
